Hanover Pines Nature Park (formerly known as Battle Park) is 42.5-acres located on Carolina Beach Road, just south of Manassas Drive in southern New Hanover County. The county is working to develop this property into a passive park for the greater community to enjoy. A passive park is principally designed for use in an unstructured, informal way and plans include hiking trails and a 1.3-mile paved multi-use trail, wetland boardwalk, picnic shelter and restroom, wildlife observation and overlook, a dog park, fitness station, as well as a play and discovery area.
